Three Squares Afghan Square Crochet Pattern

Measures
7" x 7"


The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contact me if you find any errors.

MATERIALS:

Red Heart Super Saver Yarn
  Light Blue (MC) - Less than 3/4 ounce

  Dark Blue (CC) - Less than 3/4 ounce
Hook Size I

Stitches: ch, dc, sl st, sc.

Difficulty:  MEDIUM


R1: With MC, Ch12, sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in ea rem ch. (11sc)

Rs2-12: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st. (11sc)
Fasten off. [ Right Side]

Begin working in rounds.
R1: With Right Side facing, using CC, join with sc in 1st st on last row.
(Ch3, sk 1 st. Sc in next st) across.

Working along the side into row ends,
Ch3, sc around 1st st in 3rd row down.
(Ch3, sk next row end, sc around 1st st of next row) 3 times.
Ch3, sc in the corner st.

Working in unworked lps of foundation ch,
(Ch3, sk next st. Sc in next st) across.
Note: Last sc should be in the corner.

Working along the last side, into row ends,
Ch3, sc around 1st st in 3rd row down.
(Ch3, sk next row, sc around 1st st of next row) 3 times.
Ch3. Join with sl st in 1st sc.

R2: Do not turn. Sl st in next ch-3 sp.
Ch3 (counts as 1dc) Dc in same sp.
Work 2dc in every ch-3 sp around entire square,
making 3 chains to form each corner. [Right Side- 40dc and 4-ch3 sps]

R3: With MC, join with a sc in any corner sp.
(Sc, ch2, 2sc) in same sp.
Sc in ea st around, placing (2sc, ch2, 2sc) in ea corner ch-sp.
Join with sl st in 1st sc.

Rs4-5: Ch1, do not turn.
Sc in ea st around, placing (sc, ch2, sc) in ea corner ch sp.

Join with sl st in first sc.

Fasten off.
