MATERIALS:
Mary Maxim Crochet Cotton - Mercerized Sportweight (White & Periwinkle)
Steel Hook Size 1
Sewing Needle & Black Thread
Magnet
Yarn Needle
Stitches: ch, sc, hdc, dc.
Difficulty: MEDIUM
R1: With White, Ch 2. 6 sc in 2nd ch from hk. (6sc) Do not join, begin working in a continuous round.
Place Marker.
R2: 2 sc in ea sc. (12 sc) Place Marker.
R3: (2sc in next sc, sc in next sc) around. (18sc) Place Marker.
R4: Rep Rnd 3. (27 sc) Place Marker.
R5: Sc in ea sc. (27 sc) Place Marker.
R6: Rep Rnd 3, ending with 2 sc in the last sc. (41 sc). Place Marker.
R7: Join with sl st in next sc. Ch 2, 2dc in next 2 sc. Sl st in next sc. Sc in next 15 sc. Sl st in next sc. 2 dc in next 2 sc. Hdc in next sc. Sc in each rem sc. Join with sl st.
Fasten Off.
Finishing: Cut 6-8" lengths of Periwinkle to use as hair. Add 1 fringe to each st across the top of the head. Add bangs using a yarn needle and Periwinkle. Stitch on eyes and mouth with the black thread and sewing needle. (I worked in the front of each stitch) Glue on the magnet and put it on the fridge!
OPTIONAL USES:
1. Applique to a little girls shirt or sweater.
2. Sew onto a shirt by stitching around the face and leaving the top of the head unstitched to form a tiny pocket.
