CROCHET TIP:

Sort yarn by color families when storing. Store all shades of blue together, all shades of green together, etc. This makes it easier to choose yarns for a project when you need numerous colors for a pattern.

This is not a stitch tip, but a tip non the less. I try to put washing
instructions off the yarn package with each afghan I make, especially
baby afghans, so the recipient will know how to take care of the afghan.
Most of those receiving the afghan seems surprised that it is machine
washable.

Hi, I just had to e-mail you and let you know I have just finished
crocheting my Bishon her winter coat and I used your pattern to the
tee,I made it in verigated pink,blue,yellow and white and it fits her
very well,I'm so happy with this pattern I think it warrants a second
time around,only I'll make it in a different colour. Thanks ever so much

TR is the abbreviation for a treble (a/k/a/ triple) crochet.

A treble crochet is as follows:

TREBLE CROCHET
(Also known as Triple Crochet) Yarn over twice, then insert your hook into the stitch or space indicated. Yarn over and pull up a loop. (You should have four loops on your hook.) Yarn over and draw through two loops. (You should have three loops on your hook.) Yarn over and draw through two loops. (You should have two loops on your hook.) Yarn over and draw through two loops.

Thanks for a wonderful site. I've just started checking out crochet sites over the last month (even though I've crocheted for over 25 years) and after looking at them all I always come back to yours.

One comment. I've ran into some stitches "I've" never heard of. Couldn't believe it. But you're site's so good all I had to do was go back and find the directions to the stitch.

My personal pet peeve is to find an error at the very end of
a big pattern. About 6 years ago, I chose a lovely tablecloth
pattern from either a Magic or Decorative Crochet magazine
to make for my mom. On the last two rnds, after months of
working on this cloth, I found an error. Because these patterns
are in symbol crochet, and the edge of the cloth was hidden in
the picture, I had to design my own edging. My other pet peeve
is an error at the very beginning. If you can't figure it out, or
contact the designer, you can't even begin!

HUMOR

The strong young man at the construction site was bragging that he could
out do anyone in a feat of strength.

He made a special case of making fun of one of the older workmen.

After several minutes, the older worker had had enough.

"Why don't you put your money where your mouth is?" he said.

"I will bet a week's wages that I can haul something in a wheelbarrow
over to that building that you won't be able to wheel back."

"You're on, old man," the young guy replied.

The old man reached out and grabbed the wheelbarrow by the handles.

Then he turned to the young man and said, "Alright. Get in."

An elderly lady, who lived on the third floor of a boardinghouse, broke
her leg. As the doctor put a cast on it, he warned her not to climb any
stairs.

Several months later, the doctor took off the cast.

"Can I climb stairs now?" asked the little old lady.

"Yes," he replied.

"Thank goodness!" she said.

"I'm sick and tired of shinnying up and down that drainpipe!"

At one point during a game, the coach said to one of his young players,
"Do you understand what cooperation is? What a team is?" The little boy
nodded yes.

"Do you understand that what matters is whether we win together as a
team?" The little boy nodded yes.

"So," the coach continued, "when a strike is called, or you are out at
first, you don't argue or curse or attack the umpire. Do you understand
all that?" Again, the boy nodded yes.

"Good," said the coach. "Now go over there and explain it to your
mother."

A young lawyer, just out of Law School, was pleading his first case in South Carolina.

A train had killed twenty-four pigs, and the young attorney was trying to impress the jury with the magnitude of the injury.

"Yes, Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, twenty-four pigs. Imagine, twenty-four pigs.

Twice the number there are in the jury box."

A New York boy was being led through the swamps of Louisiana by his cousin.

"Is it true that an alligator won't attack you if you carry a flashlight?"

The cousin smirked and replied, "Depends on how fast ya carry the flashlight."

I guy had an awful day fishing on the lake, sitting in the blazing sun all day without catching a single one. On his way home, he stopped at the supermarket and ordered four catfish. He told the fish salesman, "Pick four large ones out and throw them at me, will you?"

"Why do you want me to throw them at you?"

"Because I want to tell my wife that I caught them."

"Okay, but I suggest that you take the orange roughy."

"But why?"

"Because your wife came in earlier today and said that if you came by, I should tell you to take orange roughy. She prefers that for supper tonight."

My friend called his car insurance company to tell them to change his address from Texas to Vermont. The woman who took the call asked where Vermont was.

As he tried to explain, she interrupted and said, "Look, I'm not stupid or anything, but what state is it in?"

A man was annoyed when his wife told him that a car had backed into her, damaging a fender, and that she hadn't gotten the license number. "What kind of car was he driving?" the husband asked.

"I don't know," she said. "I never can tell one car from another."

At that, the man decided the time had come for a learning course, and for the next few days, whenever they were driving, he made her name each car they passed until he was satisfied that she could recognize every make.

It worked.

About a week later she bounded in with a pleased expression on her face. "Darling," she said. "I hit a Buick!"
